Once you have selected the gown for your most important day, the proper fit of the garment is of paramount importance!
K & K Dressmaking takes great pride in being able to provide the best alteration service available by providing a full service ON-SITE alteration and custom department. Our European trained seamstresses and tailors are highly skilled in the fitting and sewing technique required to ensure the perfect fit!
An appointment is required for all fittings, to try on, view or the pick up of your merchandise. The exact shoe and undergarments being worn with the gown, must be worn for your fittings.
We recommend you call to schedule an appointment approximately one to two months ahead of the event. This time frame ensures you the availability of a flexible fitting schedule. If you have taken a gown home, let the alteration department know you will be bringing the gown with you.
If you have placed a "Special Order", a fitting appointment should be arranged upon your notification the gown has been received. February through October are the busiest for our alteration department. If you are unable to keep a pre-arranged appointment, please call at least 24 hours in advance to cancel.
Fittings are arranged on a "first come, first serve" basis. In the event of a tight scheduling calendar, the customer with the closest wear date will be accommodated. Rush services are available, please check with store for more information.
Pricing
The pressing of the gown is included in your alteration fee. Pricing varies depending on the style of gown and how it fits initially. Approximate charges can be given over the phone, however, we cannot give you a specific price until we see what needs to be done to make your gown fit you perfectly. A minimum deposit of 75% is due at time at your first fitting*. Any balance due on dress, must be paid in full prior to the fitting. The alteration charge is not included in the price of the gown. Should there be a drastic weight gain or loss from the point of purchase, additional charges over and above the normal alteration charge may apply. *If alterations are under $100 and you are using a credit card, alterations must be made in full. If you are paying with cash, you may put down 75% of the total amount, however, final payment must be paid in cash as well - We do not accept checks.
Pricing for veiling and bustling will also vary according to the services you desire. As with alterations services, only approximate pricing can be given over the phone, but final pricing cannot be given until we meet and we see what we will actually be working on.
Please note: K&K Dressmaking reserves the right to not accept an alteration order for enlargement of any dress if client was recommended a larger size and the client declined that recommendation, or if your measurements are considerably different than on the day you placed your order. K&K also reserves the right to not accept rush orders if we are overbooked with orders. If a rush order is accepted, a rush fee may apply based on the amount of work that needs to be done, and the time we have available to work on them. K&K Dressmaking recommends that you book your alterations appointments at least 1 to 1-1/2 months before your event. And during the months of January through July up to 2 months before.
